Gran Turismo 5 threatens to be the ultimate driving experience - at least if Sony can be believed.
Based on cutting-edge technology, the latest in the Gran Turismo series will feature a much more comprehensive set of cars and courses than the previous version, and will include innovations such as car damage, differing weather conditions and night driving. FIFA 11
Just when you thought that football on your game console couldn't get any better, along comes FIFA 11 and proves you wrong. Each release of FIFA seems to have a special feature that improves the playing experience and FIFA 11 is no exception. This release has what Electronic Arts calls Personality+, which enables players to perform on the pitch more true to their actual attributes. A subtle change for sure, but it makes a real difference to the playability of the game. Player likeness has been improved, particularly for the major world stars and even the crowd noises sound better. Crowd shots however, still look like cardboard cut-outs, but that's a minor criticism of a remarkable game.

Medal of Honour
Electronic Arts have managed to bring the release date for Medal of Honour in before their competition, the new version of Call of Duty. The new Medal of Honour continues the tradition of previous releases, but goes back to the 2001 Afghanistan war for its setting. Out of deference to others' sensibilities, the enemy is now known as "opposing forces", rather than "Taliban". There are three main classes of player - rifleman, special ops or sniper - and the game can be played in multi- or single-player modes.

Call of Duty: Black Ops
The Call of Duty series is probably one of the best multi-player action games around and the latest in the series, Black Ops, keeps up the standard. As with previous versions, players can customise their online soldier with specific and individual attributes. You can be an explosives expert or a sniper, the choice is yours. If the thought of jumping straight into combat is too daunting, remember that there is a "combat training" mode where you can practice your skills first against customisable computer opponents.

Kinect: Controller Free Gaming Experience
Although not a game, the Kinect concept, developed by Microsoft for the Xbox 360, is certainly hot in the gaming world. The controller is based on a webcam type attachment to the Xbox 360 and contains a camera, microphone and depth sensor which together provide 3D motion capture, voice recognition and face recognition. The device enables users to control the Xbox 360 by gestures, body movements and spoken commands, rather than by manipulating buttons, making it a true rival to the opposing Nintendo Wii Motion Plus and Remote and the PlayStation3 Move controllers. A compilation game package, Kinect Adventures, will also be released in November 2010.
