More about the application proposal:

In order for your application to bidorbuy’s Category Administrator internship programme to be considered, you need to submit a proposal which needs to meet certain requirements.

This is because we need to be able to assess from your proposal whether you would be a potential fit for our business culture, and whether you display the thinking that we would expect of a graduate with an interest in online marketing and business.

Before you start writing your proposal, you need to familiarise yourself with our business; and to do this, you need to visit our website:
When preparing your proposal, bear in mind the responsibilities listed in the job specification of the Category Administrator role and use these to structure your approach to growing your particular category.

Once you understand our business platform a little better, you might be able to identify a category or two that you are passionate about or would be keen to learn more about.  Use these as an example in your proposal.

Think about the job title of a Category Administrator once you’ve identified a category that you are interested in.
Ask yourself the following questions:

  • What does the term ‘Category Administrator’ mean to me in the context of the bidorbuy business?
  • What could be involved in taking ownership of growing this category? (From a marketing perspective, and a financial/business perspective.)
  • What steps do I need to follow in order to set up appropriate budgets for marketing my category?
  • What would a marketing plan look like, in terms of an overall objective, environmental review, detailed plans for execution, and measurement of progress?
  • Take into account that there are two important demographic groups that need to be targeted:  your buyers on the one hand and your sellers on the other hand, each requiring unique efforts to entice them to use our marketplace to fulfil their specific needs.
  • Be creative, think out of the box and use what you’ve learnt in your studies to create an interesting proposal.

This is an exceptional opportunity for you to kick start your marketing and/or business career, and this proposal will form the basis of the impression that you make on the decision makers in this process, so any time spent on perfecting it will stand you in good stead.

Please submit your proposal with all the other documentation to:
