This vendor picked up (metal detected) an old pitted Paul Kruger Penny of 1898 (the last year of dated Paul Kruger Pennies) and decided on a quest to complete a collection of Pennies to 1922 – the year before the Union of South Africa started minted our own coins in 1923.
It consists of his actual old detected ZAR Paul Kruger Penny of 1898 and then a 100% complete collection from 1899 to 1922 consisting of the following: Queen Victoria (1899 – 1901) King Edward VII (1902-1910) King George V (1911 – 1922) that circulated in South Africa before our own mint started minting Pennies in 1923.
