| DESCRIPTION | A really beautiful and large framed original oil painting of THE OLD TOWN, WARSAW (POLAND), AS SEEN FROM THE VISTULA RIVER AND WITH THE ROYAL PALACE SHOWN CENTRALLY by Polish artist M KOTGRSKI. It is done on very good quality artist's canvass over a wooden stretcher. The artist signed this work at bottom right and also dated it 1995. The framed painting measures 75 x 95 cm and the artwork alone measures 60 x 80 cm. The painting is framed in a good quality gilded wooden frame with a thin inner frame. | The images in this listing do no do justice to this exceptionally beautifully executed painting. It is finely painted by a great artist who displays superior skills in colour use, composition and perspective. The painting depicts one of the greatest landmarks in Eastern Europe. The old town in Warsaw was almost completely derstroyed by the Germans in WWII, but it was completely rebuilt by the Polish nation (a task which was only completed in 1988 - 7 years before this artwork was painted). The painting excellently displays one of the greatest National symbols of the Polish people and a monument of their national pride which is one of the greatest tourist attractions in Europe. At the price this painting is on offer for it is an exceptional buy which is both an investment item as well as an item which is a conversation piece and one which can be displayed with pride. |
