An incredible example of one of my favourite gemstones, which I am sure you all know by now ! I have a huge admiration for this wonderful natural gemstone.
Firstly, forget all that you previously thought of the Zircon ! It has no relationship whatsoever with Cubic Zirconium. You will read quite a bit about this wonderful gemstone here, and some research will uncover much more.

Zircon is the oldest mineral on Earth, and even older than the Moon, which formed over 4 billion years ago.
It also happens to be one of the most extraordinarily beautiful gemstones that exist, and is HIGHLY prized by serious gemstone enthusiasts worldwide.
The fire in Zircon, called dispersion, is caused by light entering the gemstone and separating into a prism of rainbow colours. Possessing dispersion approaching that of Diamond, the brilliance of Zircon is second to none.
