This is an astonishing Cambodian Zircon that has met with my highest approval. It is a gemstone of great stature, and of the highest quality, and as I have mentioned above, the colour is sublime, and very rare indeed !
Firstly, forget all that you previously thought of the Zircon ! It has no relationship whatsoever with Cubic Zirconium.
The Cambodian Zircon commands extremely high prices internationally, and is a seriously sound investment gemstone. Cambodian Zircon prices on the International gem markets are going through the roof, with no sign of a slowdown.
Zircon is the oldest mineral on Earth, and even older than the Moon, which formed over 4 billion years ago !
It also happens to be one of the most extraordinarily beautiful gemstones that exist, and is HIGHLY prized by serious gemstone enthusiasts worldwide.
The fire in Zircon, called dispersion, is caused by light entering the gemstone and separating into a prism of rainbow colours. Possessing dispersion approaching that of Diamond, the brilliance of Zircon is second to none.
Cambodia is the worlds premiere source for Zircon. One hundred kilometres north of Angkor Wat, close to the Cambodian Thai border, are the mines of Preah Vihear. Remote, pristine, and stunningly beautiful.
