Simplicity:

Everything about the MED1000X3D was designed with simplicity in mind. The aluminium casing acts as a passive heatsink - which eliminates the need for noisy fans to cool the device. The casing also opens up like a clamshell to reveal a snap-in harddrive bay which supports either 2.5" SATA drives of 3.5" SATA Drives (Sold separately) up to 4 TB in size. The top of the device also has a small control panel, which allows you to control the device without using the remote.
