Special Forces - FAIRBAIRN SYKES DAGGER - (original & stamped)

Here is a certified authentic blackened Fairbairn Sykes dagger. Also known as the operational type dagger. They are mainly used by Special Forces worldwide, including the South African recces. This dagger is marked with the manufacturers stamp (not engraved) on the cross guard. The point and both edges of the blade is razor sharp. With this specific dagger comes a manufacturers certificate of authenticity. A brown leather sheath is included.

S.A. Special Forces (Recce) operational daggers never had an allocated number or operator`s name engraved on it, just like any of their equipment. If it did have a name or personal number engraved on it, then it was done personally by the recipient. In the past, I had a few operational Recce edged weapons that came straight out of their stores and none of these items were officially engraved to operator`s. This was ensure that their country of origin or themselves could not be traced, if captured while on an ops or if they had to suddenly abandon their kit in hot extractions.
