04054 A-10 Thunderbolt II
The A-10 is still one of the most successful combat aircraft for close air support/ground attack missions and can carry up to 8 tonnes of armaments. The A-10 was in practice built around one of the post powerful American cannons - the General Electric GAU-8A Avenger - a seven-barrel revolving Gatling gun with 1,174 rounds, calibre 30 mm. The reputation of the A-10 was founded on its missions in Kosovo and later in the Gulf region against tank units.
