TRY AS I HAVE, I CAN NOT ESTABLISH WHAT THIS BEAUTIFULLY MADE AND "SOLID" SOLID BRASS CONTAINER WITH A HINGED LID AND REMOVABLE INTERNAL TRAY IS USED FOR. IT IS FAR TOO WELL MADE FOR IT NOT TO HAVE A SPECIFIC FUNCTION. THE "TRINKET BOWL" MEASURES 10cm ACROSS AND LOOKS LIKE IT COULD HOLD A CANDLE OR BE USED FOR INCENSE ETC. THE BOWL IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND HAS MINIMAL AGE AND USAGE RELATED WEAR AND TEAR. MAYBE YOU CAN SHED SOME LIGHT ON IT FOR US.
