STUNNING VINTAGE FULL CARAT GARNET. LARGE! 9ct GOLD. 4,1 grams. BIRMINGHAM ASSAY HALLMARK
This gorgeous vintage piece of England heralds from Birmingham, the jewellery quarter of England. It is a real conversation piece of a ring featuring a large central oval cabochon garnet framed by 16 round faceted garnets. The colour of the stones is a deep earthy red. The gold is 9 carat (hallmarked 375). There is a lot of gold in the setting, which gives the ring a pleasantly solid feel. The stones are claw set and the entire head is raised 7mm above the finger. The jeweller's mark is quite clear as is the Royal crown, the Birmingham Assay office and the date mark. There is a second hallmark indicating that the ring contains a full carat of garnet gemstones.
