In 1899 Davitt left his seat in parliament for good in protest against the Boer War, visiting South Africa to lend support to the Boer cause. His experiences inspired his Boer fight for Freedom, published in 1902. Profusely illustrated in black and white, some very rare photos.

Description: soiled hard cover in dilapidated condition and frayed edges, loose and stained binding also frontis pages. Original orange cloth boards with flag and emblem of Boer Republic(?) Gilt titling on the spine and the upper board but faded. Contents in good condition.
