ANTIQUE 4 PILLAR MANTLE CLOCK
Beautiful pressed brass dial - brass feet and fittings
Unknown make and origin
Needs service/repair
This beautiful mantle clock with intricate pressed brass dial, brass feet and fittings and an unusual dark marble finish has no visible maker's marks so the origin and exact age is not known. It is however estimated to date back to at least the very early 1900's.
The case is in good condition apart from the crack in the one corner of the top. Please see the last image for a close up. The dial is in great condition and it has the original spear pointed hands. The concave glass cover is intact and not cracked.
Please note that the clock is being sold as is. It appears to have been over wound and is not currently running. When helped along, it ticks for a few seconds and then stops.
Bear in mind that it will require a service and/or repairs to get it running again.
The original pendulum is included but there is no key.
The clock has a height of approximately 30cm and is 45cm wide. It has a gong and a ringer, presumably for a time signal at set intervals as well as an alarm.
Even in a not running condition it will make a stunning display piece. Judging by the design, I am presuming this was not a working man's clock, but a model reserved for the well-off members of society!
