See the British Antique dealers Association stamp on this item, guarantees over 100 years old, imported to South Africa many years ago. Very rare. English made hard paste porcelain tea pot hand painted floral design. teapot made in the Silver shape. Rare to find any without damages. This is almost the exception. The main bottom part of this tea pot is in practically mint condition, no cracks, crazing, hairlines or repairs guaranteed. The lid, however has a couple of chips and the finial is glued. Part of the lid rim was cracked, but all is intact and presents well without any damages seen. Most Similar Examples located whilst researching were all extensively restored, but still valuable upwards of R2500. This is an amazing practically Museum Quality. Low makers number 232 dates the pot to the late 18th century. Don't miss this opportunity to own a very very old piece of history.
New hall is linked historically with two hard-paste factories of Plymouth and Bristol. It was founded in Staffordshire by a group of local potters who bought Richard Champion's patent for hybrid hard-paste in 1781. The works certainly rank as a leading 18th century concern, although the factory made no figures and very few decorative wares, the majority of production were tea and dessert wares of high quality as well as jugs and punch bowls.
Measures approximately 24 cm spout to handle and about 14 cm widest and 14 cm high.
