A very impressive totally untreated Tanzanite with tons of fire and sparkle, and lots to admire. It is a stunning blue/violet, with the violet hues being strongly displayed - especially in natural daylight. In artificial lighting the blue is more prevalent, and the gem is alive with sparks of silver.

Tanzanite is the blue/purple variety of the mineral zoisite (a calcium aluminium hydroxy silicate) which was discovered in the Mererani Hills of Northern Tanzania in 1967, near the city of Arusha and Mount Kilimanjaro.
