It is difficult to estimate the age of this item, but most people I have asked place it at about 1930.    So it will be an antique in only 16 years time.

The size of the butter brick indicates that it was made to mold a one pound block of butter.

Outside measurements 144 mm x 94 mm x 55 mm.

It is very well made,    Note the key shaped joins.   There are no gaps so the person making this was a real craftsman.

All the fitments are brass as can be seen by the green oxidation on the wood.   The timber is of a very hard variety, which I have not identified.
