Keith Alexander

The Artist in Retrospect

Description: A now rare, first and only edition on the work of South Africa’s foremost surrealist painter.  Keith Alexander (1946-1988), 'born in Zimbabwe but relocated to South Africa, began his artistic career as a sculptor but switched to painting. He became known for his haunting and brilliant hyper-realistic and surrealistic canvasses, particularly those inspired by desert landscapes. Unpopulated, stark landscapes, architectural ruins, overgrown and deserted, beached ships, deep shadows and mists contrasting with sun-blinding light characterize Alexander’s paintings'. The story of his poignant and in many ways sad life as told by David Robbins.

Title: Keith Alexander: The Artist in Retrospect
