| DESCRIPTION | I do not think that I have ever handled a more charming painting than this artwork of TWO YOUNG GIRLS PLAYING NEAR A DUCK POND. The artist very aptly titled the artwork SPENSIERATA GIOVENTU (Carefree Youth). The painting is done in oil paint and in somewhat impressionist style on artist board (treated hard board) and it is framed in a very attractive quality wooden gilded frame with a white wooden inner frame. The artist has signed the artwork at bottom right and the artwork is not dated, but I would say, from the clothing worn by the two girls, that it was painted in the 1930s or 1940s. The artwork is of medium size and measures 460 x 560 mm in the frame and the artwork alone measures 290 x 390 mm. You can see the painting as it is sold in the image above. | CONDITION | This painting was recently re - framed in an expensive frame which shows the artwork to it's optimum effect. Both the artwork and frame are in very good condition and it can be hung as is. |
