Each Dom Perignon (750ml) vintage expresses the special characteristics of a particular year.
The 1995 vintage is marked by an exceptional summer. Spring was somewhat dull and the late, though rapid flowering was offset by the heat wave conditions beginning in late June. Rainfall was slight for two months, but for sporadic storms. Temperatures were above the seasonal average for the past thirty years.
Pickling began on September 18th for the Chardonnay and on the 25th for Pinot Noir. On the nose, the brioche and honey tones quickly blend with the fresh almond and apricot embellished by hints of smokiness. After the up-front intensity and roundness on the palate, there is a gradual tension which becomes persistent, vibrant, pre, mineral and fruity.
Besides the distinct characteristics of the year, this vintage embodies the unique Dom Perignon Style; a reach, creamy mousse, fine bubbles, a spiritied, crisp opening leading into a broad pallet of Aroma's and Taste.
