Charles Knight, London, 1851. 6 volumes. leather bound with gilt tooling to the spine over marbled panels. All edges marbled. Contains The Comedies in two volumes, Histories in two volumes, Tragedies, Poems and Index in two volumes. The books measure 22x15cm and they have a combined weight of 6.3kg. The set in good condition but some foxing present. The spines also good but notice the first Volume (Comedies Vol1) with a bit of surface damage on the spine. One book's front cover has come loose from the spine on the inside of the book, however the outside of the spine still in good condition and attached. This set is rare and highly collectible - I have not found this set advertised anywhere on the internet, similar but later editions are retailing at R15000 per set. This fine set would grace any quality library! (Note the spelling of Shakspere - this version of the spelling was widely in use in the 1800's). International Bidders Welcome.
