Common Names: Bellflower Superba or Clustered Bellflower Campanula glomerata or Bellflower Superba and Clustered Bellflower as it is commonly known is an extremely long-lived perennial, and it blooms significantly in early summer, on compact plants. Blooms are 2.5cm in diameter. The plant has purple flowers with a glistening almost metallic sheen. It prefers full sun in moist fertile soil. The Clustered Bellflower forms a thick low-growing clump of leaves that send up 50cm stems with clusters of the deepest purple flowers. Superba adds a very unique look to any garden or bed. The spreading clump should be dug up for division every third or fourth year. The plant is attractive to bees, butterflies, and birds and also makes an excellent cut flower.
