A strikingly beautiful cushion cut totally untreated Tanzanite. In natural daylight the colours are predominantly green, and violet, with hints of a rare turquoise blue ! Under normal domestic halogen lighting, the blues are more obvious, and the gem is afire with silver sparks.

This is a gorgeous Tanzanite with fabulous visual appeal. The cut, and the proportions are superb - it would make an exquisite ring, or sensational pendant, which HPJ/Aristocracy would be delighted to design make for the winning Bidder.
Tanzanite is the blue/purple variety of the mineral zoisite (a calcium aluminium hydroxy silicate) which was discovered in the Mererani Hills of Northern Tanzania in 1967, near the city of Arusha and Mount Kilimanjaro. Tanzanite is noted for its remarkably strong trichroism, appearing alternately sapphire blue, violet and burgundy depending on crystal orientation.
