Antique Oriental Miniature Mammoth IVORY round lidded pot (circa 1850 -1899)

On offer for your consideration is a:

 Round pot/trinket box and lid from what has been identified to be mammoth ivory (tusk).

Measurements: Outer Circumference 145mm. Rim Diameter 25mm,  Height 50mm taken with lid on inclusive of lid's knob and without lid the pot's height is only 32,5mm. Weight: 30g

The Schreger lines of the ingrained pattern angles are exactly 90 degrees, which suggests that the ivory used is that of mammoth. The photo shows the angles, taken with sunlight shining through.
