There is a cardboard backing that displays the electrical hook-up needed for operation. One has "A" on it and the other has "B" on it. The wire to the earphones are in good condition. The phones have some black paint worn away. The earphone shut off hook and the interrupt button work perfectly. The back of the earphones is stamped S.H. COUCH CO INC. NORTH QUINCY MASS. #570 made in USA. Hook a battery to them, push the button to buzz each other and talk.
