The Kit contains 4 models, each model has 3 sets (head and chest, legs, arms) and each set has two moulded pieces (e.g. head and chest is composed of two pieces, front and back). In total, the Mould Set contains 24 moulded pieces.
The booklet in the moulding kit has step by step instructions on how to use the moulds from start to finish, including attaching pieces, positioning, how to paint the eyes, clothing templates etc. The booklet also includes a recipe for Gum paste and edible Gum glue. The moulds are made from solid plastic and when brushed lightly with oil, makes removing the moulded pieces easy. The cake decorating tools are made from plastic and are great for finer detail.
Male mould pieces (double sided so there are 3 parts, each one containing 2 pieces that fit together).
While this type of mould is generally used for cake decorating, I have used my own set of moulds with air drying clay. I have included a free set of paint brushes for this purpose.
PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT use the same mould for edible projects if you intend using the mould for medium like clay as this can cause contamination. It's advised to have two separate mould sets, one for edible projects and one for non-edible projects.
Moulds are easy to clean with soap and water. PLEASE DO NOT place these moulds in the dishwasher, oven or microwave as they will be damaged.
The little girl mould that I am working on using air drying clay. I tilted her head to the side to add character. It's not a difficult set to work with as I have never used a double mould before and so far all is looking pretty good.
