Gasteria species are grown in well-drained, sandy soils in light shade.

Shipping for plants and bulbs

Please note that while most of our stock can be sent via normal parcel mail with a tracking number without any harm coming to the plants, some few rarer items need to be sent via Speed services. Any order for plants that include a Speed service item will either have to be sent wholely Speed Services, or as two postage boxes.

Normal parcel mail is priced by weight by the post office. It works out R38 for the first kg and R5 per additional kg. Meaning a 3kg box would be R38+R5+R5=R48.

Every plant is given a postage code to help you get a rough estimate what postage will cost.

Code 1 is items that can be sent ordinary parcel (R38 per first kg, R5 per kg after) 4-6 items make 1 kg.

Code 2 is items that can be sent ordinary parcel (R38 per first kg, R5 per kg after) 2-3 items make 1 kg.

Code 3 is items that can be sent ordinary parcel (R38 per first kg, R5 per kg after) 1 items make 1 kg.

SPEED SERVICE ONLY- means it's a plant that must be send Speed Services, R68 for the first plant, extra plants of the same will be less, but I need to quote you what the extra plants will cost.

Aloes and bromeliads will be sent in tact. Most other plants and bulbs will be cut back before posting. All plants are sent bare root, without soil.
