A very old and interesting "THE THUNDERER PATENT" conductor's whistle stamped by both CAPE GOVERNMENT RAILWAYS (1874 to 1910) and the Crown Agents who supplied goods to the Colonies, V&R BLAKEMORE, of BIRMINGHAM. The marks "THE THUNDERER PATENT" in the square stamped on the top are very unusual and indicate this whistle was probably made by Alfred de Courcy's factory in the late 1800's.
Please examine the photographs and note the split seams and the missing hook-eye on the back.
