A lovely small tureen, possibly a vegetable or sauce server.

This is a wonderful find for the collector of old blue and white china.

A true antique dated 1825 - 1840

Ironstone pottery from the Leeds potteries decorated in transferware.

I searched for hours on the net to identify the pattern and even after finding it I only found 5 items of this pattern. It is really old and rare!

The pattern is from a series of Italian scenery called "The winding road".

Please note how unique the handles are.

There is no lid and I am not sure there ever was one but perhaps?

It is unmarked except for a capital D on the bottom. This is consistent with the date.

It is in a lovely condition with a few chips on the one handle, a 'scuff' mark on the top rim and a chip on the base. See pictures.

Size: Height 9cm - Length 21cm - Width 12cm
