A very rare Green Amethyst (aka 'Vermarine') that has been beautifully cut – a stunning specimen, and at 19.67 Carats, just the perfect size for a very unique and striking pendant.
The colour is a unique ‘mint green’
Amethyst Mine Panorama is the largest deposit in North America. It was discovered in 1955 as a result of a road being built to the forest fire lookout tower (McTavish Tower) visible from the mine sight. Amethyst production started in 1960 and the mine has produced continuously since then.
Amethyst is perhaps the world’s favourite semi-precious gemstone. It is found in abundance in only a few countries. Canada was blessed with a great deposit in Ontario, just north of the City of Thunder Bay, at the top of Lake Superior.
