how does acupuncture mat work? the acupressure points on the mat stimulate the body to release the chemicals known as endorphins and oxytocin. these are the same “feel good” chemicals released during exercising. this produces a feeling of relaxation and general feel good, allowing you wind down and find it easier to fall asleep.

how do i use the acupuncture mat? home acupuncture energy mat can be used lying down, or even sitting. it can be placed on the floor while you place your feet on it or sit on a chair or bed while the soles of your feet or palms of your hands are placed on top of the mat. we recommend using a towel on the mat when you begin its use and wean it off as you gradually get use to the sensation of the spikes. some minor discomfort can be expected for the first few minutes of your first few uses, after 3-5 minutes your body should begin to feel warm and tingly.  try to stay on for at least 10 minutes the first few times. once your body has accustomed to using the mat for 10 minutes at a time, slowly increase your time on the acupressure mat by 5 minutes per use, until you reach the ideal time of 30-40 minutes.
