A striking big 4.60 Carat Flawless custom cushion cut totally untreated Tanzanite. The image makes it appear far too blue - in natural daylight the colour is more a green/violet, with hints of powder blue. Under artificial lighting the major colours are steel blue, and silver.

This is a lovely untreated Tanzanite, which I have described above. The cut, and the proportions are superb - it would make an exquisite ring, or sensational pendant, which HPJ/Aristocracy would be delighted to design make for the winning Bidder.
Tanzanite is the blue/purple variety of the mineral zoisite (a calcium aluminium hydroxy silicate) which was discovered in the Mererani Hills of Northern Tanzania in 1967, near the city of Arusha and Mount Kilimanjaro. Tanzanite is noted for its remarkably strong trichroism, appearing alternately sapphire blue, violet and burgundy depending on crystal orientation.
