I am always on the hunt for vintage pieces that have the unmistakable air of quality when you handle them. This piece is special! It is reassuringly heavy, weighing in at 4,2 grams. The central stone is real sapphire but what makes it different is its unusual colour - a sea-green blue. The sapphire is 0,70 carats. There 38 X 1mm round diamonds set in the ring head around the sapphire and in rows on either shoulder. The 9 carat gold is heavy, extending from the shank up the ring head into over-sized "claws" to to hold the sapphire. There are diamonds set in the gold claws.

The ring bears many hallmarks including the jeweller signature mark, 375 for 9 carat gold, the Birmingham Assay office make and 0,20 for the diamonds. The ring head is raised 6 mm above the finger. It is definitely something unusual in the line of vintage jewellery!
