  Opalite: in its natural form is composed mostly of dolomite (opalized Fluorite) but often found with minerals such as Quartz and Chalcedony. Opalite is a beautiful, mesmerizing pinkish lavender that has a tendency to pick up other colours. Also called "Tiffany Stone", "Ice Cream Opal" and "Opal Fluorite".

!!! Much of the inexpensive Opalite available on the jewellery market  is actually a manmade quartz glass of gemstone quality that mimics the chemical compound found in natural earth formed stones. Also referred to as "Sea Opal", manmade Opalite is a translucent milky white, featuring a subtle colour play of purple, blue, orange and yellow under the light.
