Water filter: 5 Stage Reverse Osmosis Water Purification System

Double O-ring, for double protection, Stainless steel tap, 12 liter steel tank.

Drinking Purified Water is the Starting Point for Optimal Health.

Water consumption is a basic, everyday routine. Our bodies can function for up to 40 days without food, but only 6 or 7 days without water! While it’s possible to remove bacteria by boiling (if any survived the chlorine) it’s not possible to boil away dangerous chemical compounds and heavy metals. Unfortunately, most of our tap water today is chlorinated, fluoridated, and treated to the point where it can be an irritating disagreeable fluid instead of a valuable benefit.

Cancer risk among people drinking chlorinated water is 93%

higher than among those whose water does not contain

chlorine. U.S Council of Environmental quality.

South Africa's Drinking Water
Unfortunately South Africa's water quality is deteriorating at an alarming rate, not meeting European and international minimum standards.

This situation is unlikely to improve in the near future. The results of a 1984 study showing the quality of South Africa's water in comparison with that of the EU, as well as few of the multitude of recent newspaper articles on the state of our water confirms the deterioration of our water quality and the testing parameters.

The SABS only addresses some 27 parameters of water quality as opposed to the EEC's 70 parameters. - Health Talk Magazine-(April 1997)

Why Reverse Osmosis?

• Scientifically proven to be to most advance purification process.
• Reduce heavy metals and chemicals by 95%
• Removes 100% of bacteria and viruses
• The purification process with the most health benefits
• User friendly

5 Stages of Filtration.

Stage 1
5 Micron Filter, removes sediment, clay, silt and particular matter to 5 micron range which float or are suspended in water to protect the membrane.

Stage 2
Carbon filter, Removes Chlorine, harmful chemicals, synthetic detergents, as well as other organic contaminants.

Stage 3
Water is forced through the pores of the densely compacted carbon block, where a combination of mechanical filtration, electro kinetic adsorption, and physical/chemical adsorption takes place to reduce or eliminate a wide range of contaminants. Solid carbon block technology, unlike other forms of filtration/purification, can reduce chlorine, taste and odor problems.

Stage 4
A 0, 0001 Micron Reverse Osmosis Membrane eliminates heavy metals, arsenic radio active materials etc. between 90-95%TDS. Separates the pure water and drain the rest.

Stage 5
Post filter, Removes odours, chlorine and bacteria again. Give taste to the water.

End result
The end result is water, of such a high quality, you will wonder hoe you were ever satisfied with ordinary tap water or bottle water.

Q
I inquired a while back about this system, but would like to look at this option very seriously. We have water tanks which is 1 storey above us. We use a pressure pump to get the pressure up for a gas geyser. This pump is not always running. Water does come out the tap but not at a high pressure. Do I need an extra pump or will the system be able to make use of the unpressurised water? - Asked by ddvisser (6)
10 Dec 11:27

A
yes, if you have an additional pump already, the water pressure should be fine so you shouldnt need a system with a pump.

Q
1) Can the unit be used without the steel container, say for example if I wish to store the purified water in my own container. 2) With a general hardness of 8 German degrees (dH) which is the typical water hardness in Pretoria, how many litres can I purify before replacing filters. 3) Can stage 5 be bypassed/ 4) Can the unit stand dry for a few days a week without damage to the filters? 5) What is your estimated cost for installing the unit in say a kitchen at the zinc? 6) Would the water be suitable for freshwater aquariums? - Asked by fanie za (20 Rating score between 10 and 49)
12 Oct 21:54

A
1) Yes the system can be used with any container
2) You can purify about 5000 litres before filters need to be replaced
3) Ye stage 5 can be bypassed you can just disconnect it from the unit
4) Yes the unit can stand dry as long as there is water in the filters especially the membrane
5) Cost of installing the system is R 450, 00
6) Yes many people use RO water as a base for fresh water aquariums.
* You can actually install the system under your zink in the kitchen and still use it for freshwater aquarium purposes you just need to make small adjustments that I can help you with.
