The Mackintosh design in jewellery is a line of jewellery from Scotland that falls into the celtic meets art nouveau. The pieces I have found and bought in the past tend to be more severe in lines but this rose design brooch drew me as it manages to combine "pretty" with the classic straight lines of more traditional Mackintosh jewellery. I really don't know what the colour part is made out of. On close investigation under the magnifying glass it looks like enamel - you can actually see this in the photographs! There is an intriguing hallmark on the back "PT". The brooch heralds from the heart of Scotland from one of my favourite vintage and antique jewellery markets! I also bought matching earrings!
