Hi, the maps on the Chicago 6000 are from the last quarter in 2007 and updates are not available. The coverage is excellent, haven't had any negative feedback at all. However, if you are looking for a gps device with the latest maps and updates, I suggest you buy one of the competitive brands.

The map data cannot be updated at present. The current map data on the Chicago is full SA coverage from last quarter 2007. We are selling our remaining stock at the moment (which explains the extreme low price) and hence there will be very limited backup service. The Route 66 international helpdesk is available on www.route66.nl
