Here is 1x pair of cloth Hunter Group roundels.

You will receive 1x PAIR (left & right) of badges, when buying a quantity of 1.

These items usually price at least R 600 per badge. There are websites currently selling these badges for about R 800 each.

These badges make an integral part of any S.A. Recce / Special Forces collection.

Hunter Group was the forerunner of 2 Reconnaissance Commando. They can also be known as the very first Special Forces capability of the SADF, until 1 Recce was officially established in 1972.

The black/saffron badges were used on the lower sleeve and also as beret badges. They are embroided on cloth.

The black/saffron badges were issued to members after 1 year Hunter training.

I made up these sets from old Hunter Group stock that was found in a trunk, in the garage of the late Maj Willy Ward (HCS, JCD). Willy was known as an ex-recce operator that always liked to have the monopoly on Hunter Group & 2 Recce.

After Willy passed away, I was personally summoned by an ex-senior officer which was an old friend and colleague of Willy to receive these items for sale.

I was personally told, when receiving this stock that these badges are not from the first run of badges that were manufactured for the initial founding members, but they are Originals from the same supplier & template on a follow-up run for Hunter Group operators.

Maj Willy Ward was a co-founding member of Hunter Group & 2 Recce in the 1960/70`s and also achieved his HCS, while part of Bravo Group (later known as 32 Battalion).

This is the last of the stock.
