Excellent condition in original case
Rare piece of WWII era history for the discerning collector
The scope is in excellent condition and comes in the original wooden case as pictured.
The optics are nice and clear and the focus ring works as intended.
The scope is intended to be inserted into the barrel of a cannon in order to align the barrel of the cannon with the external aiming device.
Manufactured by W. Ottway& Co in 1943, it is entirely possible that it was used during WWII. There are signs of use, so it was definitely issued and used.
