Eye On The Diamonds is a sequel to Terry Crawford-Browne's earlier book Eye On The Money. Focusing on diamonds, Crawford-Browne links the colonial and apartheid histories of South Africa with the close histories of Israel and Palestine. It demonstrates how De Beers, the South African company which dominated the diamond cartel for more than a century, is fast losing control to far more ruthless Israeli players. The author suggests that the diamond trade - critical to the twenty-first century war business - makes every diamond a 'blood diamond'. In turn, he argues that 'blood diamonds' provide the ultimate money laundering opportunity for organised crime, while the Israeli war business thwarts efforts at peaceful resolution of conflict.

A passion for books and a passion for collecting fine editions was the recipe that created the successful group of bookshops in Johannesburg called Bookdealers. The group started thirty years ago with one store in the quirky suburb of Yeoville and has grown through the years to a total of five shops, plus our online sales. Bookdealers is well-known for its collectable and used books. We also have a large variety of remaindered books sourced from around the world.
If you collect from one of our branches there is no delivery charge. We also offer postal delivery (when available) and courier delivery, subject to a quote.
