1957 HARMONY MONTEREY COLORAMA ARCHTOP H-951
Rare and collectible old acoustic guitar in original case!
Very good and playable condition
Up for sale is a guitar that is not found every day. It is a 1957 Harmony Monterey Colorama acoustic archtop, model number H-951.
These guitars were made from 1955-1958 and this specific one dates from 1957, sporting the black finish with the 5 diagonal gold stripes.
Condition is excellent and it is ready to be played. I had the bridge replaced with a custom made rosewood bridge that closely resemble the original and fitted new strings.
Other than that no repairs or restoration has been done because it simply was not needed. It has normal light scratches and wear to the pick guard and body from normal use and a small chip in the paint on the back of the neck.
Other than that the paint is in very good condition and there are no cracks, delamination, separation or sagging of the top or back and all the bindings are good.
The neck is straight and solidly attached to the body.
The rosewood fret board and frets are in good condition with normal wear, but will look much better once cleaned and oiled. The tuners are in good working order.
The guitar measures 642mm. It has a birch top, back and body and a rosewood fretboard.
It comes in the original case. The hinges of the case are broken but they should be fairly easy to fix if needed.
