CUSTOM HAND FORGED DAMASCUS BLADE HUNTING KNIFE
Hand forged folded Damascus steel - Hand carved fossil bone and burl wood handle
Custom made piece - only one available
Includes a beautiful free presentation box, handmade from old Oregon!

Damascus steel blades are created by forging multiple layers of various steels into a solid block called a billet.
The billet is then folded and re-welded many times to create multiple layers and patterns.
When acid is applied to the blade, it attacks the layers of hard and soft steels differently, highlighting the attractive patterns in the steel.
The combination of layered hard and soft steels creates blade flexibility, hardness and durability and produces invisible serrations on the cutting edge that aid in cutting.

This amazing knife is not only stunning in appearance, but also boasts a rock solid full hidden tang construction.
It has an extra thick 7mm full tang blade, meaning that the blade continues all the way inside the handle right to the butt without any joint or weld.
The Damascus blade of the bowie is the result of hours of forging from 1095 and 15N20 high carbon steels into 512 layers, creating a beautiful layered pattern.
The cutting edge has been heat treated to attain a hardness of 59 on the Rockwell scale while at the spine it is 42-45.
The carved fossil bone and burl wood handle with Damascus bolster is a work of art in itself and is accented by hairline brass and fiber spacers.
Complimenting this incredible knife is a hand tooled thick quality leather sheath, custom made for this specific knife.
