BEETROOT DETROIT DARK RED SEEDS:

CULTIVAR:  Detroit Dark Red

PLANTING SEASON:  all year, but it is best to avoid the extremes of winter & summer during growing times.  Best time of year:  February to April & August to October.

DAYS TO HARVEST:  60 - 80

GERMINATION TIME:  7 - 14 days

CULTIVATION:  Beetroot Detroit Dark Red seeds grow in most soils, except very acidic.  It needs soil with good drainage.  It is an excellent crop to follow after lettuce or cabbage.  Plants are "half-hardy" to frost. 

SOWING DEPTH:  1 - 2 cm

SPACING: 15 cm in rows and 15 cm between rows
