Titanopsis occur in three areas: 1) southern Namibia, 2) southeastern Namibia into Bushmanland, and 3) from the Northern Cape Province into the Free State. The various species are characterized by their warty spoon- or club-shaped leaves. The eastern species â T. calcarea, T. fulleri, and T. luederitzii -- grow in the summer and blossom in the fall, while the western species â T. schwantesii and T. hugo-schlecteri -- grow in winter and bloom in winter and spring. All plants are popular and easy to grow, preferring a well draining potting soil and plenty of light.
The plants need well drained soil and sunny exposure. Plants should be watered mostly in summer and less over winter.
Division of larger clumps is possible in some cases, but as most species have tuberous rootstocks and offset slowly, seed production is the most common method of propagation.
The small seeds can be sown in pots of fine, well-drained sand, any time during the spring and summer months when temperatures are warm (20C or higher)
