About the artist :

Ben G Geldenhuys is a full-time illustrator, animator and designer based in Cape Town. Having graduated at the Tshwane University of Technology in 2007 with a degree in multimedia. His great passion for cartoons, comics and animation started at an early age and he draws his influences and inspiration from the likes of Jamie Hewlett, Jim Cheung, Rob Guillory and Steve Prescott.

He also has an immense interest in fantasy, science fiction and horror films (particularly ones revolving around lycanthropy) as well as heavy metal music and these themes appear in quite a number of his works.

He is the co-creator, artist and co-writer of the locally-produced webcomic Cottonstar along with partner Danelle Malan.

The Star Wars SA artists edition original cover art project :
With 2015 being a banner year for Star Wars, Marvel Comics released the 1st issue of the all new Star Wars saga through various official launch parties worldwide - Readers Den was one of those places :) The idea with this project was also to somehow give South African artists the chance to showcase their talents and of course their love of Star Wars ! Hence, mostly Cape Town based artists were invited to do a cover on the blank variant editions especially imported for this project ... and they delivered !!!
