World War 2 Desert Sirupate Kukri dagger with scabbard. During World War 2, the Gurkhas fought beside the Allies in North Africa. They often favoured the Kukri knifes to take into battle over the Issued models. This knife is one brought back by a South African soldier who did duty in North Africa. The knife is still in its original leather scabbard, but is missing one of the 2 small knives which were used for sharpening and maintaining the Kukri. The knife is in excellent condition, except for a small knick on the blade. It has 5 white dots in 2 places on each side if the handle, with small brass inlays in the centre of the dots. The back & front of the handle are also brass. The knife measures 38cm from tip to tip. The scabbard was made from wood, covered by hand stitched leather. The leather has become hard due to age. A truly historic item for the true collector.
