The Zeiss Ikon Contina II (catalogue no. 524/24) is a classic compact 35mm folding rangefinder, circa 1952-53. This one is the more desirable model with the Tessar 4-element 45mm f/2.8 lens (not the less desirable 45mm f/3.5 triplet) and Synchro-Compur shutter. It comes complete with an original metal push-on lens hood and leather case.

The camera is in excellent condition. Everything works correctly - the lens extends and locks, the aperture lever moves smoothly, the rangefinder works, the focus is smooth, the shutter cocks and fires, and the film advance and rewind work properly. The lens glass is in excellent condition, with no haze, scratches or fungus. I shot a film with this camera and everything works as it should. The images are clear, with a classic look to them, and there are no light leaks. The first image below is one that I shot with this camera.

Apart from fading of the logos (although they remain legible) and some paint that has worn off the bottom of the camera back (clearly visible in the photographs below) and on the hinge of the film door, the cosmetic condition is excellent. You can see that the camera has been used, but there is no brassing, dents or significant scratches. The lens hood is also in excellent condition and clips onto the lens properly. It really is a beautiful piece of mechanical art and a testament to the quality of German craftsmanship that it looks so good after more than 60 years!

The leather case is in good condition except that the top of the case has some finish marks (visible in the pictures below), and the leather that forms a hinge between the top and bottom halves of the case has broken, so the top and bottom halves are not joined. However the bottom half works nicely as a "half case" for the camera, complete with functional film wind knob, and the top half can be attached using the rear popper when the camera is not in use to protect it from dust.

Since cosmetic condition is subjective, please judge for yourself from the detailed photographs below. I am confident that you will not be disappointed!
