SOAPSTONE IS QUARRIED LIKE GRANITE AND MARBLE. IT RANGES IN YEARS FROM 300-400 MILLION YEARS OLD. WATER CANNOT PENETRATE IT NOR WILL IT TEAR APART FROM FREEZING.
