An EXTREMELY rare, and exquisitely beautiful Palmer Canyon Iolite. It is a breathtaking specimen by any measure you care to apply. Iolite has often been compared to Tanzanite - it's probably the closest any gemstone comes to the unique colour of Tanzanite.

In 1966 the first known gem-quality Iolite deposit was discovered at Palmer Canyon in the central Laramie Mountains of Wyoming. At the time, Iolite was one of the rarest gemstones on earth.
