Here is a set of METAL Hunter Group roundels in black/saffron, red/saffron & white/green. These are metal plague badges that were obtained by the late Maj Willy Ward for mounting on a wooden base for ex-Hunters. They are not from the current metal "commemorative" badges that were made up by an U.K. resident. Ebay sellers are selling these U.K. manufactured badges as Willy Ward, Hunter Group manufactured items. This information is false. Check the detail on the different emblems. If you buy (quantity 1), you will receive all 3 badge types as displayed in the picture. If any buyer wants to buy bulk, you can contact me for a better discount price. I made up these sets from Hunter Group stock that was found in the garage of the late Maj Willy Ward (HCS, JCD). These badges were still in an industrial bag, when I received them. They were not manufactured by the usual military badge suppliers. These badges are relatively thick and heavy for their size. They are also slightly smaller in diameter than the original cloth badges. I was personally summoned by an ex-senior officer which was an old friend and colleague of Willy to receive these items for sale. I was personally told on receiving the items that these 3x metal badge types is part of stock that was obtained for the manufacturing of an authentic Hunter Group Veteran`s plague (about 5x emblems on a wooden base) that was to be given to all ex-Hunter Group members and also for the family of deceased members. A few years ago, Willy also told me himself about the plagues that were in the process of manufacture. When receiving this stock, I saw a similar plague that was already given to an ex-Colonel that was a young Hunter in the early days. Unfortunately Willy`s dream never materialized to the full extent, due to his sudden death. Maj Willy was a well-known member within the various Unit Leagues that existed, where he once served. Until his death, he was an active member with the Leagues of Hunter Group, Special Forces and 32 Battalion. Maj Willy Ward was a co-founding member of Hunter Group & 2 Recce in the 1960/70`s and also achieved his HCS, while part of Bravo Group (later known as 32 Battalion). ![]() |
