This is one of the most scarce and sought after Mandela books. This copy is numbered 381 of a limited run of just 425 copies published by Little Brown in 1996 while Nelson Mandela was still President of South Africa.
The book is quarter bound in Wassa goatskin, and comes with an exclusive portrait photography by South African photographer Benny Gool. The photograph is a beautiful image of Nelson Mandela and signed and dated by the man himself. The photograph which comes with the numbered book is separate from it and is protected within its own folio it could easily be framed if required.
The book is protected within a black buckram clam shell case which has watered silk lining and an attached silk book mark.
This is one of the most desirable Mandela limited editions. Also note Mandela signs his full name and surname which makes this book even more valuable as this format of his signature is very scarce.
This is a collectable and valuable book, with copies selling on abebooks and elsewhere for in excess of £8000.
